Film distributor Sameer Dixit of Pickle Entertainment, says audiences are looking for entertainment, and want their heroes to have a certain attitude. "But this has gone missing in the Bollywood films of late. Films from the Sou th still have that, and that's why audiences are not bothered whether they know or identify with the star in the film or not. That's why these films are doing so well."

I was with Sagarika music and then I took my interests independently as I was already a good tabla player and well versed with music and one fine day Rishikesh Bhirangi came to me and joined the business. I knew him as a musically inclined person who did shows with Avdhoot Gupte who is a good friend of mine too and I took on Rishikesh as my partner and the partnership is still growing strong.

We had Darling and now Faas which is a gritty grim film on farmer’s suicide issue which will keep us on our toes for quite a while. Faas is the most realistic film I have ever seen because I learnt two new things from that movie and that is, post mortem can't be done after 7 pm in the evenings and dead bodies on the trees can be brought down only after the sun rises. It’s a much watch film.

I look after the meetings with producers and directors and Rishikesh handles the distribution and exhibition part since he is well versed with the financial dealings with theater owners and distributors. Now Rishikesh is also looking into our music label since he knows so much about music and whenever we take an artiste or a music composer, I take his advice.

We will be launching a Hindi film soon and our two-web series are ready to go on the floors. We are handling new artistes like Sadhana Jejurikar and we are promoting her on a massive scale. We will be starting with acquiring Marathi film music and Hindi music. We will be approaching big players in the financial world to support our projects and very soon we will be making a big announcement. We are into outdoor; hoarding publicity on bill boards, railway trains, buses, etc. and we have put across a huge hoarding of Darling in Pune. I also advise new producers and directors so as to make their films easy to release.

I am happy to handle the distribution part of our movies in Maharashtra and also Hindi movies like Table No.21, Heroine, Joker, 1920 evil returns, Kya super kool hain hum etc. in Karnataka and handling the hiring of theaters and doing the sharing business with producers. Now Pickle has around 16 movies ready for release started with Darling on December 10 which got 200 screens. Our last release after the pandemic Ajinkya too did very well at the box-office.
